The Research Into The Balance Between The Urban Ring Expressway And Its Surrounding Land Use

Since the reform and opening up in the 1980s, urbanization of China has developed rapidly and urban area has gradually expanded. Consequently, urban traffic has become a crucial problem in the urban development. In order to solve the problem both of traffic congestion of urban central area and alleviate urban traffic pressure, the ring expressway has emerged. Although the ring expressway temporarily alleviated urban traffic problems, the area around the ring expressway has become the main source of traffic congestion. The very reason is that the ring expressway conflicts with its surrounding land use. The analysis of the balance between the ring expressway and its surrounding land use is useful to the reasonable allocation of resources, making either promote the other, and has important practical significance.Beginning with describing the existing problems between the urban ring expressway and its surrounding land use, this paper first makes a qualitative analysis for the interactive relationship between the urban ring expressway and its surrounding land use and various phenomenon of mutual influence, and then makes the quantitative calculation and analysis of the degree of the balance between the urban ring expressway and its surrounding land use, using those indexes that can reflect characteristics of the urban ring expressway and of its surrounding land use and DEA method, and proves the operability of analysizing method through empirical analysis. At the end, this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for the balanced development of the urban ring expressway and its surrounding land use.The research content has great practical significance; the method adopted has great practicality; the conclusion has useful reference for the integration development of the urban ring expressway and its surrounding land use in the future.
