Cogeneration is an efficient way of energy production about the joint production of thermal and electric energy, it is an effective way to develop thermal energy cascade using technology. In Coal-fired power plants, the worked steam-heat is used for supplying hot users; we can reduce or avoid the loss of the cold source in the condenser of steam turbine, and improve the thermal efficiency in power plant.The Hongwei thermal power plant is a cogeneration plant which supply heating mainly, and power generation as a supplement. The heat load is primarily for civilian heating, seasonal variability, the configuration of turbine and furnace is special in the system. In this paper, we take cogeneration system in the Hongwei thermal power plant as object, and found that there are some problems in the operation way by its operation data and statement. From three aspects (steam turbine, boiler, auxiliary), we analyzed 10 problems that be take into account which bring economic impact of the system. We determine the best economic operating conditions of the system by studying steam turbine operating conditions through main steam flux: boiler operating conditions through evaporation flux and the feed water pump operating conditions through feed water flux. According to the changes in thermal-power load in different seasons, we do optimal design in the cogeneration system, and determine the best mode of economic operation to guide the production. By analysis and calculation of the cost-effectiveness before and after the optimizing run, we found the thermal efficiency develops from 67.983 percent to 66.156 percent, and the savings for fuel cost is 4,871,070 Yuan.Through the research in the subject, we can improve control strategy, optimize the economic operation to improve the economics of cogeneration further. It has significant practical significance for providing strong technical support to achieve the purpose of saving energy and reducing consumption.
