The CAD/CAM System Research Of Globoidal Indexing Cam Mechanism With Steel Ball

Globoidal indexing cam mechanism with steel ball is a new type of "rotation to rotation" transmission mechanism with high efficient and precision. Compared with globoidal indexing cam mechanism with other types of rollers, this indexing mechanism has advantages of adaptability, high transmission efficiency, high speed performance, less heat, less abrasion, and so on. Regarding to the un-malleability and complexity of the profile of work space, there is not a complete system of CAD/CAM at present. This topic is on the base of the theory and the motion law of globoidal indexing cam mechanism with steel ball, and to establish the system of globoidal indexing cam mechanism with steel ball with second developing tools of VC6.0 and Pro/E. The main work of the paper is as follows:First, theory research of globoidal indexing cam mechanism with steel ball: it includes structure principle of the mechanism, the main performance characteristics, meshing equation, profile equation, pressure angle, curvature and so on. The theories provides structure parameters and theoretical basis for CAD module of the system.Second, research on motion law of globoidal indexing cam mechanism with steel ball: According to the type of the transfer function of the indexing cam, the motion law eigenvalue, the general motion law of the indexing cam and the selection principle, the motion law of globoidal cam indexing mechanism with steel ball can be decided. And it provides the theoretical basis for the selection of the motion parameters of the CAD module.Third, the selection of development tool of the CAD/CAM system: On the base of discussing the basic principle and purpose of secondary development of CAD/CAM, it discusses on the basic knowledge and working mode of Pro/TOOLKIT briefly, which is second developing tools of Pro/E, and put forward to establishing Pro/TOOLKIT to make the application environment configuration, programming and operation process base on VC.Finally, the design of CAD/CAM system for globoidal indexing cam mechanism with steel ball: according to the topic demand, overall framework of application system is proposed. And the topic analyzes the key technology involved in the system development process—UI dialog box technology, CAD modules of the globoidal indexing cam and indexing plate , CAM module of cam mechanism,and illustrate the program with the design example. At last, this paper shows the example demonstration of application. And it introduce the system application process and function realization briefly.Through the research work above, the system CAD/CAM for globoidal indexing cam mechanism with steel ball is finally established. This system realizes the information transmission and information sharing between the subsystems which can improve the degree of integration and automation on design and manufacture for globoidal indexing cam mechanism with steel ball. And it provides an excellent software platform for the design, manufacture and performance study of the globoidal indexing cam mechanism.
