The Research Of The Revival Of Downtown Base On The Concept Of Plug-in Urban Design

In the ages of planned society, the old city center in China was declined, and government did not concern about its updating and transformation. While after 1976, with the development of the Market Economic System and the continuous urban policies, the old city centers were more and more be concerned by the whole society. On the other hand, due to the problems of many conflicts such as institutional and ideological questions, leading to a very terrible situation on urban regeneration. Furthermore, the theories of these problems are not common nowadays. So the purpose of this paper is improving the situation in our country.The subject of "urban design concept based on embedded renewal of the city center-taking the city of Shijiazhuang as a example" belonged to the areas of Design Methods of Urban Renewal on Chinese cities. The research focus on urban design, learning from foreign advanced methods of urban renewal, and finding useful practices in China. Through the practices of theoretical analysis and summary of cases, exploring the urban design renaissance in our city centers. The article focuses on combined with principles of the embedded urban design and a example of city center in Shijiazhuang. The paper was divided into 5 sections. Firstly is the introduction, making sure the goal of the whole paper. The second part elaborated the basic concepts, with the combination of our problems.The third section is proposing a mode of design methods on embedded urban design and providing my writing foundation. Next part takes financial center of Shijiazhuang as an example, analysis the practice and take the subject to theory. The last parts are the summary of the paper and add some comments.Above all, the main sections is the second (discovery), the third (conclusion of theory), and the forth (practice). Among the three sections, the third part is the most important area, it concluding topic analysis, to translate, according to different backgrounds, reveal two main systems(active and passive), and then taking lots of places including native ones and foreign. Then give the concludions, the mode from point to line to ring, and the three principles.
