As the pressure and challenge from climate change being in front of human, people has realized that buildings exert great influence on energy, resource and etc.Thus, people are making effert to promote the green building in order to save energy and resource, and preserve the environment, thereby achieving the sustainable development in building industrial. Being as a main industrial with the huge CO2 emission, green buildings are the most important way to solve these prolems.At the same time, when green buildings become gradually popular, the railway construction is being accelerated with a dramatic investment. The operation length of railway goes up significantly, which results in construction of many new railway stations. Being as a kind of public building, the railway stations has made some contribution to the railway development, however, due to the huge floor area, complex function, numerouse equipments and etc, the energy and resource comsuption are quite large. Moreover, these railway stations emit more greenhouse gas than other buildings; they also considerably impact the natural and urban environment. Therefore, there is no doubt that the green railway station is the development trend of new railway sations in the future.Based on the theory of green building assessment, this thesis summarizes the works on the green building assessment systems, including LEED, BREEAM, CASBEE, GBTool, China Ecological Residential Technology Assessment, Assessment System for Green Building of Beijing Olympic, Green Building Evaluation Criteria and etc by analyzing the the development history, their features and assessment methods, and then the common ground and limitation are concluded. Then, the study on the development of railway stations in China is conducted. According to the summary of features and existing problems of railway stations in China, this thesis shows the development trend of railway stations in the future, thereby directing the establishment of Green Railway Station Assessment System. In adddition, by analyzing the principals of selecting indicators and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), the Green Railway Station Assessment System (GRSAS) is developed. This assessment system contains 7 level-1 indicators and 26 level-2 indicators. Based on the qustionnares the weightings of these indicators are presented. Finally, having developing GRSAS, a set of application software corresponding to the assessment system has been developed. This set of software, based on Visual Basic (VB), increases the work efficiency, saving plenty of time for assessors. Aditionally, a case study is used to verify the set of software.
