Study On Green Building Assessment System In China

Sustainable development becomes the common purpose of people all over the world. The research of green building becomes more important and urgent than before. Whereas in China, until now concepts on this subject have not been clearly expounded yet. There are even some people make use of the subjects to pursue their own commercial profit. Therefore, it is necessary to set up a precise, objective assessment system to provide valuable reference for the development of green buildings in China.This dissertation is intended as a general exploration of green building assessment systems. This paper first look background of green building research aboard and explain the great meanings of green building assessment. Comparing the different international assessment systems from edition, weighting system, assess index, result, paper points out the common ground and localization of those assessments. Considering Chinese situation, Chinese government enacted Assessment Handbook for Ecological Residential Building in China and Evaluation standard for green building and Evaluation system of green Olympics. Deeply analyzes the system from the aspects of objective and significance, essential principles, criteria and mechanism. Moreover, the dissertation gives descriptions of several advanced green building assessments in western countries.
