With China entering the high-speed railway era, one of the four core issues brought by the high-speed,high-speed train ride comfort needs to be urgently solved. Over the years, the factors that affect the comfort were not paid sufficient attention.Lack of comfort and stability testing and measurement standards and methods, it is difficult to ensure passengers travel in comfort for the whole railway system. Japan, Germany, the United States and France have developed their specific programs through specialized research, especially a large number of tests in standards of the comfort and stability,meanwhile,ISO(International Standards Organization) and UIC(International Union of Railways) promulgated the corresponding standards. According to the condition of our country, National Bureau of Standards and the Ministry of Railways also developed national standards. The above-mentioned work provides a theoretical basis for the comfort and stability testing and measurement instrument.In order to meet real time and power requirements, the paper proposes a solution based on SOPC. The instrument is designed to detect and analyse the real-time acceleration of the train, then give the comfort and stability index calculated. It provides effective means to protect the safety of running trains and improve the ride comfort. NIOS II processor is introduced by the instrument based on the CycloneⅡfamily FPGA EP2C70,in order to meet the real time requirements, dual-core is configured and real-time operating systemμC /OS-Ⅱis adopted; FIR module FFT module, AD control module customized in the form of the IP core of NIOSⅡare connected to the processor for data filtering;Fast Fourier Transform and AD Control through the Avalon bus,SRAM, SDRAM, FLASH are also connected to the processor to access datas and procedures through the Avalon bus; RS232 bus and LCD control module connect the wireless module and the LCD module to the Avalon bus to complete the wireless transmission and real-time display of datas.Standards of comfort index are discussed and the instrument is studied from both hardware and software, the simulation results of part of the instrument are also presented. After improved, the testing and Measurement instrument can be used to test the comfort and stability index of trains for the railway system.
