Vehicle Ergonomics is a branch of ergonomics in the field of the ground vehicle systems, which is human-vehicle-environment system as the object, improves the drivers and passengers'the adaptability and comfort as the core, considers human security and health as the goal, and makes the overall performance of the whole system optimal. After years of development, vehicle ergonomics has built some sophisticated theories and methods for vehicle design theory, methods, norms and standards, becoming an indispensable theoretical basis of modern vehicle design and continue to be applied.Integrating with national science and technology support programme topics "straddle type monorail transport vehicle system integration technology and application", this paper carrys out ergonomic layout analysis of the cab and passenger compartment of straddle type monorail based on the basic principles of ergonomics:(1) establishing three-dimensional CAD digital model. (2) making use of RAMSIS software to select the different percentile manikin model; respectively, analyzing the comfort, reachability, vision and operating force based on the interior of vehicle body. (3) studying on the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of sitting comfort based on fuzzy mathematics principle, providing a reference for the comfort evaluation of straddle type monorail; meanwhile, applying Visual Basic 2005 program, needing only the designer to enter the appropriate comfort index value and giving the analysis result. Therefore, it achieves a convenient and flexible man-machine interface.In this paper, it is the first time to achieve ergonomic design analysis and research on mass transit vehicle, summarizing design process and methods of ergonomic layout based on straddle type monorail. In addition, it is of practical and theoretical significance for improving design efficiency, shortening the development cycle and the image of understanding the complex interrelationships among characteristic parameters of straddle type monorail interior.
