| In recent years, as the amount of automobiles increase rapidly, car frontal impact and side impact become the most common two types of traffic accidents. Relevant statistical data show that: as the urban road intersections is plane cross, car side impact is most frequent and caused largest number of injuries in China. At the same time, the side of car is weaker in energy absorption, specifically for mini-car, the stiffness of side impact is only 1/12 for frontal impact, and crash distance is very small.Therefore, researches on how to improve the car's side impact safety become very important for reducing passenger injury and the fatality rate in vehicle accident.In view of Euro-NCAP puts the pole side impact into its laws and regulations , but research on this particular form of impact is very little in our country, this article study on two types ( moving deformation barrier and pole barrier) side impact of car by computer simulation. First, analyses the basic theory of computer simulation and parameters that effect the simulation accuracy and efficiency for car side impact. Second, builds MDB ( moving deformation barrier) and pole barrier side impact finite element model of car by HYPERMESH software based on china's relevant laws and the pole side impact rules in Euro-NCAP, and solve by LS-DYNA, research on energy changes and respective responses of the car body for two types of impact through the simulation results; combined the evaluation rules of car side impact do some key parameters'comparative analysis for the two types of side impact ,such as the car body deformation, intrusion volume and the characteristics of acceleration of key parts, so we can come to the characteristics of passenger injury for the two types impact; At last, combining the characteristics of injury in pole side impact, improve corresponding structure of the car body, and improved the side impact safety of vehicle to some extent .Research shows that, the pole side impact in Euro-NCAP caused more serious injury on passengers'head and chest, this regulations put forward higher requirements on passenger's head and chest protection ; however, the MDB side impact in our country is a slightly stricter protection in abdomen and pelvis of passenger. Although the majority of the domestic vehicles are unable to meet the regulatory requirements of pole side impact rules in Euro-NCAP, the improvement for pole side impact in this article is effective. It show that, if the automotive designers in our country do continuous improvement based on the characteristics of passenger injury in pole side impact, domestic cars can quickly adapt to foreign laws and regulations. The research in this article provides some references and helps to launch the pole side impact law and improve the car-body against the pole side impact. |
