With the rapid development of the installation scale of wind turbine generators in countries all over the world, mainstream single-unit wind turbine rated power is increasing continuously. How to carry out a more reasonable type selection of wind turbine, how to make use of softwares more efficiently in wind farm design optimization, how to arrange wind turbine more reasonably and product more net power with lower investment, are subjects which current researchers at home and abroad are attaching importance to increasingly. Above issues are in-depth studied in this thesis. The essential achievements can be described as follows:Firstly, wind turbine manufacturing capacities of domestic and foreign manufacturers are introduced in the thesis. A wind turbine type selection method is provided from the point of view of turbine structure, power regulation technology, safety classes and single-unit rated power, etc.Then, the basic theory of WAsP & WindFarmer software and their main functions, data inputs & outputs, the applicability of the software are discussed in details. The method of applying WAsP & WindFarmer software into the analysis of wind energy and the optimization of wind turbine arrangement is put forward in the thesis.Finally, the method of wind farm design optimization is applied in the actual wind farm project. Through project example, the process of wind turbine type selection in the wind farm is expatiated. The whole process of optimization of wind turbine arrangement in this wind farm and economic analysis & comparison is also discussed. The method given by the thesis can be applied into wind resource analysis, wind farm design optimization, wind turbine type selection, and power production forecast in similar wind farm projects.
