With the accelerated urbanization in China in recent years, there are more and more construction projects, which bring great influence to the urban traffic because of occupying-road construction. Moreover, the traffic organization at the roadway work-zone has not been paid enough attention all the time. The lack of systematical organization solutions extraordinarily loaded burden to the traffic, which affects the traffic safety around the roadway work-zone. This thesis attempts to explore the optimized traffic organization solution for the road work-zone, and also evaluate the stimulation through four aspects including the traffic characteristics of the work-zone, influence area determination, traffic organization method analysis and stimulating evaluation system development.Firstly, on the basis of domestic and abroad references on the safety problems of the roadway work-zone, the characteristics of the staff, vehicle, road and accidents at the roadway work-zone has been analyzed in detail. In addition, the influence area has been determined to pave the way for the later investigation by confirming the three areas including focal organization area, transition area and influence area based on the equivalent capacity-intersection cornering stability.Secondly, indentify the principle of the traffic organization at the work-zone, and bring out the optimizing solution. Carry out the investigations about the pedestrian crossing, speed limit of vehicle, traffic sign installation, traffic flow guidance, public transport migration, intersection optimization and comprehensive control, and then find the solutions.Thirdly, the advantages of the macro and micro software have been utilized, the both methods have been applied as following, the OD back stepping of TransCAD, and the micro stimulation of TransModeler, in order to stimulate the process of the traffic organization at the roadway work-zone, and also establish the comprehensive evaluation system focusing on the points-lines-faces efficiency.At last, empirical research has been taken at the roadway work-zone which locates at Hujialou No.6 subway in Beijing. Different traffic organization solutions have been simulated separately, and the best solution has been found by comparing the following factors, average delay, average speed of vehicle, and average length of queue at the focal road sections, intersections and the whole influence area of the work-zone, both the before and after construction situation and the different solutions. The result indicates that the optimized method to traffic organization at roadway work-zone is reasonable and feasible.
