With the rapid development of waterway transport system, the scale of inland waterway and shipping becomes more and more extensive, and the monitor problem in wateway causes more and more serious economic losses. The navigation aid is an important part of the security system for shipping, which provides all kinds of information services for safty and convenience of navigation. Therefore, accurate and reliable working of navigation aid is the primary prerequisite for waterway monitor. With the development of information technology and the emergence of intelligent navigation aid, how to develope an efficient and reliable system which can measure and control the intelligent navigation aid remotely, becomes a great concern to all the maintenance personnel.According to characteristics of intelligent navigation aid, on the base of deeply researching the principle of DSP embedded systems, GPRS wireless communication technology and GPS technology, a complete solution for remote measurement and control system of intelligent navigation aid was proposed. Main tasks are as follows: 1. A solution for remote measurement and control system of intelligent navigation aid was proposed. As the main controller, the control unit based on DSP was design to scheduler tasks for data collecting, reporting, saving in the entire system. The electrical and GPS parameters of navigation aid were packaged according to the data protocol. The status data was sended to the central computer and the control was received from it in two ways of GPRS and SMS;2. The hardware circuit of the remote terminal was designed, and the circuit schematic and PCB board were mapped;3. The terminal system software was designed and developed, which completes the decoding of GPS and SMS data protocol, the electrical parameters sampling of navigation aid the status of reporting and the saving of data;4. In two aspects of response mechanism and data format, the communication protocol between the terminal and the central station management platform was designed. The central station management platform was developed in VC environment to verify feasibility and effectiveness of protocal;5. By researching of the boot load theory of DSP, the code format in C programming language and the technology of Flash, remote upgrading for terminal system based on GPRS wireless communication technology was realized. 6. The way of the system test was explained, and the testing was finished. The testing results show that the system's function and the performance meet the design requirements.
