| According to the importance of motors in industrial manufactory and our daily life, it is very important to test motors on their working performance and characteristics. However, there are many problems like high error rate, poor maneuverability, low automotive level, equipments are not fully utilized and costs are relatively high. With the appearance of Virtual Instruments, new concepts and technical methods are developed to solve the problems, which make it possible for us to achieve both high quality and low cost in the meantime.In this paper, I am going to introduce an intellectualized motor characteristic testing system based on LABVIEW. This system integrates dynamic and static characteristic testing of the to-be-tested motor. The test can generate reports concerning the resistance of the coil of the motor in all angles, the torque parameter and ripple at different rotate speed, and the change of the motor's current and coil-temperature under different torque. Users can access the data easily by reviewing it in Excel. The system achieves both low cost and multiple functions, and good expansibility in addition.After giving theoretical analysis of auto-measurement technologies based on virtual instruments, this paper introduced a new PTC-AT system and also gives details about its realization including hardware part and software part. In the hardware part, external equipments, motion control card, GPIB bus, RS-232, servo motor and other functional module are referred. The software part contains the process flow and arithmetic realization. In order to help readers to understand, the software part is divided into 5 parts—interface design, drives for peripheral circuits, data acquisition, data analysis, reports printing.Experimental data shows that the testing system described by this paper not only has access to customers'requirements but make the procedure more efficient as well. The loop test function also improves automation. What's more, the system could be widely used as it permits customers to modify some crucial parameters. Function sections are also easy to change in order to update the system. |
