Intelligent Transportation is to make use of computer technology, electronic technology and modern communications technology to enable vehicles and roads to be intelligent in order to achieve fast and safe road traffic, thereby ease traffic congestion, reduce traffic accidents, improve road traffic environment, saving transportation energy efficiency.Intelligent Transportation equipment has been widely used, such as dangerous location information system, car black box, speed limit systems, and intelligent speed selection system, the electronic license plate system, and non-parking systems which indirectly affect the transportation safety. The application of intelligent transportation equipment can be effective in maintaining order of road traffic, improving traffic efficiency, preventing and reducing traffic accidents, so it plays an important role to safety of vehicle, driver and pedestrian. In accordance with its purposes and principles, Intelligent Transportation equipment can be set on both sides of the road or embedded under the road as road infrastructure to detect vehicles or provide vehicles steering state parameters in order to make control and information release, it can also be set in vehicle as part of the vehicle, which are called vehicle intelligent devices, to inform drivers information as well as make automatic control of vehicle. Traffic Information System for Sharp Turning Points on the Mountain Road discussed in this paper is set on both sides of the road to inform drivers of traffic information, and it belongs to intelligent transportation management systems, so it is an effective means to ensure safe driving and reduce accident rate.This paper presented performance of Traffic Information System for Sharp Turning Points on the Mountain Road, then established the overall design program of the system under this performance, and then presented the system realization with hardware and software. Vehicles were detected by vehicle detection equipment composed by laser transmitters and silicon photovoltaic cells receiver, and Microprocessor STC89C52 coordinated operation of the various parts of system as core controller, a single-chip radio transceiver nRF905 wireless communication module introduced by Nordic company of Norway transmitted and received data between two MCU and LED driven by I/O of MCU displayed and released traffic information data in the sharp turning point. In the part of hardware, choosing chips, characteristic and designing interfaces were expatiated. In the part of software, C language was used in programming. To establish a clear system, the main program flow chart, data receive and data transmission program flow charts of nRF905 wireless communication module were established clearly. Finally, the system software and hardware were debugged, and through simulation experiments, optimization program was proposed.Traffic information data was transmitted steadily and accurately by nRF905 wireless communication module and displayed exactly by LCD module, and the system had higher vehicle detection rate and met the design requirements.
