Solar sail spacecraft is a new kind of spacecraft in deep space exploration and interstellar navigation and other areas with great potential, using sunlight pressure to produce a continuing propulsion for providing a continuous low-thrust, without carrying large amounts of fuel. Therefore, it has broad prospect in deep space exploration and interstellar navigation and other spaceflight areas. In recent years, it has been of widespread concern to the international space community.Minimum-time orbit transfers for solar sail from Earth to other heliocentric orbits and equilibrium points were explored in this paper. To obtain the overall minimum-time orbit, a given mission is usually analyzed in the framework of a minimum time control problem, with the employment of a continuous steering law. A piecewise steering law is introduced in this paper, whose aim is to substantially reduce the complex and energy consumption of attitude maneuver the sail over the whole mission. Two kinds of discrete methods are used to transform the optimal control problem to parameterized nonlinear programming problem. Based on the Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm, the sail's pitch angle and transfer time are optimized. Finally the optimal transfer trajectory of solar sail is obtained.In this paper, taking into account the difficulties and high cost of solar sail flight in practice, simulation of three-dimensional visualization of virtual scenes of solar sail is explored. Using the theory of visualization technology, a visual simulation system of solar sail which based on Vega virtual environment was designed and implemented. It can demonstrate the entire process of solar sail orbit transfer, and provide an intuitive basis for the study of solar sail flighttrajectory.In this paper, Creator software was used to build a solar sail structure model and the space environment model. By use of solar sail flight data, which is got from trajectory optimization, we have driven the flight of the three-dimension real mould body in the virtual scene, and we have achieved the scene graph simulation for the flight of solar sail by the interactive function of Vega Prime. It has good simulation results with some reality.
