| Social and economic development has been lagging behind in rural areas in China,with a large agricultural country and having a large number rural population.The energy and environmental issues have been very prominent in rural areas. Our country in the"Eleventh Five-Year Plan"also proposes to actively develop the use of solar energy, and actively promote a new socialist countryside construction. However, the clean solar energy has yet to be developed in Chongqing especially in rural areas.Thus,in order to alleviate the energy crisis in Chongqing, and to solve energy and environmental issues in rural areas,the clean solar energy in rural areas urgently need to be full developed.At present,scarce energy source,environmental pollution and global warming were increasingly severe,many countries take solar energy as an important measure to tackle the problem,which is green and recyclable as an important strategy,under the double stress and challenge of requirement source and environmental protection.However,the scope and magnitude of solar energy development and utilization in Chongqing are relatively small, especially in rural areas,as the economic and special climatic conditions,the limitations of people'energy-conscious, and the lack of related incentives.The paper describes the characteristics of solar energy resources,the utilization at home and abroad,the distribution of solar energy resources in China,as well as Chongqing.Then it analyses the situation on the utilization of solar energy in rural areas of Chongqing.This investigation combines the questionnaires,accessing and observing,avoids the deviation which is brought by simple questionnaires to a certain extent.The data covers 167 villages in 30 regions of Chongqing.In addition,several manufactures and sales companies about solar product are visited,and preliminarily clears the overall sales and use of solar energy in Chongqing.According to the survey,the problems on the utilization of solar energy in rural areas of Chongqing are following:the villagers are lack of knowledge of solar energy,and limitations of notion on energy;solar products needs to be improved technically,which can not adapt to the special climatic conditions in Chongqing,;because of higher initial investment , farmers currently can not accept solar products;product quality can not be guaranteed and after-sales service is difficult to fulfill as market are not standardized;there are restrictions on living conditions. Then, the paper analyzes the comprehensive benefits between solar water heaters and coal-fired stove using Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP)which select 11 indicators from the environment benefits economic benefits, and technical performance. The results show that when focus on the environmental benefits, the overall efficiency of solar water heater is better than the overall efficiency coal-fired stove. The individual indicators in the environmental benefits, operating costs and technology development prospects are much higher than coal-fired stove, the total cost is little better than coal-burning stoves; when focus on economic efficiency, the overall efficiency of solar water heaters is slightly worse than that of coal-fired stoves.Finally,the thesis also analyzes the barriers of utilization of solar energy in rural areas of Chongqing,combining the facts.Accordingly,the article proposes some countermeasures to promote the utilization of solar energy,mainly includes the following:enhance the propaganda and introduction,improve the level of awareness of energy and environment;enhance technological innovation,develop and product outputs to meet different needs;formulate preferential policies,encourage the use of solar products in rural areas;strengthen law enforcement ,ensure the quality of solar products,safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of consumers;enhance the industry construction,improve the skills and services level of staff;Bring the utilization of solar energy into the Planing of the new rural construction.
