At present, our country enters the modern urban construction and road transportation new period. With increasing living standards, there are more and more cars in our country. In order to respond to the call of country, saving resources and protecting environment, handling waste tires is a significant issue of to be solved.The way of grounding waste tires into rubber powder is applied widely in highway construction. Not only the "one-stop" free-pollution disposal and use are achieved, but also the performance is improved with prolonging the service life of the road.The dissertation studies the rubber asphalt modification mechanism, and studies the effect of different rubber powder content, different rubber powder fineness, different kinds of matrix asphalt and different process on rubber modified asphalt through a lot of indoor test. Moreover, in this dissertation the field processing method of rubber modified asphalt is proposed according to the test results and the practical engineeringBy microwave radiation and activator accession the rubber powder is surface activation treated. Microwave radiation and principle of activator is studied and the effect of different microwave heating time, different microwave firepower and different activator content on rubber asphalt performance through the experiments. Then, rubber modified asphalt is compared with the rubber asphalt without activation treatment. As a result, the performance of rubber modified asphalt treated by microwave radiation and activator processing is improved.In this study, the rubber asphalt is prepared using the test program. The target gradation is determined according to the OGFC mixture design experience. In the target gradation, the road performance tests of OGFC-13 mixture are carried out, comparing with asphalt mixture and SBS modified asphalt mixture. The test results shows that the high-temperature performance, low temperature performance and water stability of rubber asphalt mixture of OGFC are improved, and rubber asphalt is a good material to meet the project need.
