Along with the highway construction accelerating process, highway maintenance machineries have developed by leaps and bounds. Sweepers are a widely used mechanical engineering vehicles, they not only are used for highway maintenance, but also in urban road's cleaning and maintenance. But with vehicles increasing, fuel consumption and exhaust emissions are growing, which require to improve and innovate the new vehicles to reduce them. Traditional road sweepers have dual-engine power source, that means one engine-driven drive walking system, another drive sweeping devices, the drivetrain inevitably lead to low utilization and fuel consumption, exhaust emissions, noise increase, and so on.This paper studies the drivetrain of single-engine sweeper special chassis, based on analysis of vehicle characteristics and operating features, to make a new single-engine drivetrain program. The major study is to find method to obtain power of the chassis engine, design a set of scientific programs, complete the main parameter and the structural design of the PTO of full power. According to the sweeper operating speed and tractive effort, high-pressure centrifugal fan drive torque and the speed, hydraulic system and water system drive torque and speed requirements, make a scientific and reasonable program of power distribution. Based on the selection on optimization of engine speed, determine the PTO's transmission ratio of input shaft and the output shaft, make the motivation rational distribution that among the engine the power system and the work devices, to achieve low fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.Check the gear transmission and verify its feasibility. This paper studied a single-engine sweeper special chassis relative to the traditional two-engine chassis can save installed power 70kW, fuel consumption 13L/100km, reduce carbon emissions 93.21g/km and noise 8dB,energy saving and environmental protection results are obvious. The chassis can also be used for other to their own chassis-based and requires high power output of engineering machinery and maintenance machinery.
