A large number of scrap tires has become one of the hazardous waste affect human health, how to deal with automobile waste tires has been the focus of the world environmental research. Road as public structures need a lot of building materials. Promotion of the application of waste tires is able to relieve the pressure on the environment, which has significant social benefits. Rubber asphalt mixture as a new type of pavement materials, not only to improve pavement performance, but also to reduce the waste tire processing objective.This paper starts at rubber powder production process, followed by the production process of the rubber asphalt and production process for highway. Finally, researches on the mix design of rubber asphalt mixture and stress absorbing layer are carried out, combined with practical engineering cases and analysis of internal and external factors impact on the material properties. These works provide theoretical support and technical protection in practical engineering. The study reached the following main conclusions:(1) The quality of asphalt influcences the rubber asphalt to a certain extent. The characteristics of the rubber asphalt are very similar to asphalt, which indicates a physical reaction.80mesh powder can improve the viscosity and elasticity of the rubber asphalt, the best40mesh rubber powder rubber asphalt temperature sensing performance improvement.(2) High temperature performance of rubber asphalt decresed with swelling reaction proceeds. The increase in shear time will lead to a decline in the viscosity, but the shear temperature and sulfur content on the viscosity of the asphalt rubber impact law is not sensitive.(3) The rubber powder content and rubber asphalt mixture is proportional to the dynamic stability of the higher, the the rubber powder dosage higher the rubber asphalt mixture dynamic stability. The better the higher the dosage of powder mixture of water stability, grading the better the thicker the mixture water stability.(4) Sandblasted fight hair+rubber asphalt interface to make the interface shear strength reaches the maximum, rubber asphalt and the interface cement concrete surface bonding good asphalt concrete layer on the interface bonding, good interlayer adhesion effect.
