Publishing country policy of forbidding using solid clay brick, the concrete hollow block have replaced the clay block, and become one of predominant wall material. In recent years, concrete hollow block is widely used. With the tendency of concrete hollow blocks being used in more and more high-rise buildings, it becomes an urgent problem how to improve the seismic performance of the common concrete hollow block masonry structure, so it has both theory and practical significance to research the seismic behavior of the concrete hollow block walls. Cross bore chain concrete hollow block masonry which was introduced in this paper is a new type of the masonry structure, it has advantages of energy saving, environmental protection, heat insulation, dry assemble and so on.Based on the test and theoretical analysis, the previous research has studied the compressive behavior and shear bearing behavior of the cross bore chain concrete hollow block masonry. However, there is few research on the seismic behavior of the cross bore chain concrete hollow block walls. Therefore, three specimens of the cross bore chain concrete hollow block walls with constructional column were tested under cyclic loads for research on the seismic behavior of the concrete hollow block walls. The failure patterns of the walls have been described and hysterical curve and skeleton curve have been drawn. Some seismic behavior of the walls, such as bearing capacity, deformation, ductility, ability of energy dissipation and stiffness degradation have been analyzed.According to the results of the test, constructional columns at the boundary and inner block masonry work together under the horizontal and vertical loading; it has good ability of deformation and energy dissipation due to the restraint of outer constructional columns to inner masonry wall; horizontal reinforced concrete strips with connections can improve overall walls effectively, it is shown that the specimen have good seismic behaviors.According to the failure mode, bearing capacity, deformation capacity and rigidity, three-line skeleton curve of the cross bore chain concrete hollow block wall has been determined including calculation formula of the characteristic point in this skeleton curve, and this paper build the trilinear restoring force model of the cross bore chain concrete hollow block wall with constructional column.
