With the energy and environmental problems of human society has become increasingly prominent, the technology of distributed generation is gained more and more attention and widely used. However, a large number of distributed generations, connected to the bulk power network, have brought some negative impacts on secure and stable operation. And the micro-grid provides a new and effective way of making full use of distributed energy. At present, the practical operating experience and data of micro-grid is very little in the world. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a micro-grid experimental system, in order to study the micro-grid's operation, control and scheduling strategy deeply. Hefei University of Technology has established a complete experimental system of distributed generations. This paper is aimed at studying the graphic supporting platform of an Energy Management System (EMS) for the experimental system.This paper has studied the structure of Energy Management System software, focusing on the position and role of graphic platform, as well as the developing process of graphic platform.With the Common Information Model (CIM) in IEC61970 is proposed, the power system software has a standard designing criterion. CIM is studied in the paper, and the model of distributed generation is built in CIM.The functional requirements of graphic platform are analyzed, and the platform is designed with the hierarchical idea. According to CIM, the paper has designed the geometric property, electric property and topological property of equipment elements.With Visual C++6.0 as the programming tool and SQL Server2000 as the database, the graphic platform is realized.Forming the original topology in graphic platform is the foundation of advanced application software. The forming process of original topology under graphic platform is studied. The topology analysis is implemented by using a simple and practical arithmetic, node merging arithmetic. Aiming at the problem of the switch's overturn, the partial topology revision is carried out based on a hierarchical approach strategy, in order to improve the program's efficiency.
