Straw was the main by-product of crops and it was the important feed resource of the ruminate animal. At present, industrializatIon of the animal husbandry has been accomplished in western countries. Processing and producing of the fodder have been achieved mechanize and it was the inexorable trend to raise livestock. China is an agriculture power, there was 5. 7 hundreds million ton straw per year. It was brought forward that the extruded pellet could realized industrial management of straw and then promoted industrialization of the animal husbandry. A kind of single-screw shaping extruder was used in this experiment. The main working parts were engaged in. The principle of working and mechanism of shaping were analyzed. The effect of different factors on shaping procession was studied through four single factor experiments respectively. Smash-resistance, press-resistance and volume density were also determined. The mathematical models describing functional parameters were established by general rotary regression design for second power. Test results were analyzed. Smashed bean straw was extruded after dealing with sodium hydroxide. By the help of analysis and determination, it was found that this method could reduce the content of coarse fiber and improve the content of nutrition slightly. And then it was favorable to improving animal intake ratio and digestive ratio.
