Because of higher content of energy and fat, high-oil corn is planted more and more widely by farmer. But the yield of high oil corn is lower than common corn because the yield is negative correlation with the content of oil. The goal of this experiment is to find a better way to increase yield without decreasing quality of high oil corn. This experiment studied the effect of growth regulator on yield and quality of high-oil corn in different densities through field experiments and analysis of physiological experiments from 2000 to 2001. The main results as follows:1 The effects of growth regulator and density on yieldIncreasing density and inputting nitrogen, the forage yield of high-oil corn increases. Spraying Jianzhuangsu decreases the forage yield under the same density, but obtains higher forage yield under high density than low density without spraying Jianzhuangsu, and the forage yield is the highest on 105th day after seeding. The rate of accumulation of dry matter decreases after spraying Jianzhuangsu and increasing density, and the vegetative growth enlongs. Spraying Jianzhuangsu for two times decreases the forage yield of colony and plant significantly.In the range of 45000 plant/ha to 1 80000 plant/ha, the change of kernel yield of high oil corn accords with the simulated equation: y=ax2+bx+c, and the colony obtains the highest yield at range of 100000 plant/ha to 110000plant/ha. Spraying Jianzhuangsu reduces the yield of kernel of colony under the same density, but the kernel yield is higher at high density than at low density without spraying Jianzhuangsu, and the kernel yield is highest on 115th day after seeding. Increasing density and spraying Jianzhuangsu reduce the weight of 1000 kernels, but increasing density affects economical coefficient slightly, on the contrary , spraying Jianzhuangsu increases economical coefficient evidently.2 The effects of growth regulator and density on properties of plant Increasing density and spraying Jianzhuangsu reduce the number of vascularbundle of internodes. Increasing density scatters the vascular bundle in epidermal, makes the cortex thin, and decreases the development of bundle sheath and metaxylem. Spraying Jianzhuangsu betters the development of bundle sheath and sclerenchyma. Increasing density elongates the basal internodes, and widens the diameter, largens the ratio oflength/diameter. Spraying Jianzhuangsu restrains the elongation of 6 to 8 internodes, shortens the length of plant height and ear height, manifolds the layers and the number of roots, but has sight effect on diameter of internodes. All those properties makes the plants resist lodging. Increasing density reduces the area of three ear leaves, but increases the LAI of colony, makes the colony enhance the use of light energy. Spraying Jianzhuangsu shortens the length of leaf, reduces the LAI under the same density. Increasing density and spraying Jianzhuangsu reduce the grains of ear obviously, elongates the bald of ear and increases the rate of empty stalk.3 The effects of growth regulator and density on physiological characteristics Increasing density and spraying Jianzhuangsu reduces the content of solubleprotein and increases the content of MDA of ear leaf. Increasing density reduces activity of CAT, POD, SOD, NR. Spraying Jianzhuangsu increases the activity of CAT, POD, but induces the activity of SOD, makes the activity of NR higher in prophase of development than CK, but drops fast in anaphase of development, Spraying Jianzhuangsu reduces the rate of photosynthetic and dynamics of leaf area duration.
