A Visual Analytical Technology Of GIS On Management System Of Forest Resources In Laoshan

Forest resotlrce is one of the most important biological resources, with the benefit ofeconomic, social, biology diversity, etc. And it is also a means of important support to theglobal naturaI balance. It is necessary and urgent to establish and implement the policy offorest management under the current circumstances that environmental pollution is gettingmore serious, biological environment deteriorates, and the forest coverage drops sharply.Geography Information System (GIS) is a technique to analyze, store, and display bot11space and non-space data. GIS can uniformly process space data and property data. lt is apowerful tool to conduct forest space analysis, and to realize sustainable forest resourceadministration.In this thesis, with the study object of the forest resource of the experimeflt station inLaoshan Mountain, the basic principle is to verifythe classified and dynamic management offorest, and the established GlS forest operation and management resource system. Thissystem is established on the platfOrm of Windows 98, using the tool of Arcview referring tosome famous GIS software both in China and abroad. It efficiently utilizes the powerful andconvenient graphic interface of ArcvieW including all kinds of control buttons, pull-downmenus, windows, dialog boxes, exeYting the concise and se1fcontained function property ofArcview. By establishing the GIS of Laoshan Mountain experiment station forest resource,we can layer and dynamically describe the forest resource time and space distribution by hightime and space solution, and describe dynamic change rule of fOrest resource. Study andexploration of the space distribution of forest resource in a region and corresponding changingrule of time and space provide the base to scientifically and logically manage the forestresource, to realize the sustainable development of fOrest resource and classified management.By GIS technique, we can combine together investigation of data, basic geographical index,delimitation of small district, and special investigation data, apply it in the investigation offOrest resource, resource analysis, and forest management, and other forest action, and inspectand analyze forest resource changing, manage integrate, scientifically comment, 1ayout andmake design. Through the visual analysis of forest resource management in the experimentstation of Laoshan Mountain, we can extend it to forest resource investigation in other regions,and make the development of forest industry to a new step.
