An experiment was conducted with the objective of the study of the effects of yeast cell wall on layer performance and egg shell quality. A total of 576 laying hens of 181-day- old Hyline breed were randomly allotted to six treatments which include a basal diet, basal diet +50ppm Znic bacitrain ,basal diet + 500ppm yeast cell wall, basal diet + l000ppm yeast cell wall, basal diet + 1500ppm yeast cell wall, and basal diet +2000ppm yeast cell wall. Every treatment has six replicates of 16 laying hens per replica..The experiment lasted 8 weeks. The results indicated that the egg production rate of basal diet + 1500ppm yeast cell wall treatment is significantly higher than other treatments(P<0.05). The egg weight and the daily egg production of basal diet + 1500ppm yeast cell wall treatment are significantly greater than other treatments(P<0.05). There are no significant difference of the feed efficiency rate among the treatments, although feed efficiency rate of basal diet + 1500ppm yeast cell wall treatment is the best of the 6 treatments. There are no significant differences of egg shell strength, egg shell thickness,Hafu unit, dying rate.the content of albumin, globumin, total protein in serum among the six treatments. The result shows that the yeast cell wall has a significant positive effects on the laying hens production performance with no effects on egg shell quality and serum protein contents.
