Three experiments were conducted to study the effects of yeast cell wall and the extracted P-Glucan on the performance and immune response of broiler chicks.Experiment one: Effects of yeast cell wall on the performance and immune response of broiler chicks.576 one-day-old broiler chicks were allotted into six groups each with six replicates and fed with a basal diet control or supplemented with antibiotics or supplemented with 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 mg/kg yeast cell wall respectively. The result showed that yeast cell wall supplementation at 2000mg/kg significantly increased average daily gain, feed conversion ratio during 0 to 7 week (p<0.05), significantly decreased the relative weight of the spleen in the twenty-first day (p<0.05), significantly increased the lysozyme(LZM) concentration in serum on day 21 (p<0.01) and day 42 (p<0.05). Experiment two: Effects of 0-Glucan and antibiotics on broiler chicks. In order to examine the effects of feeding diets containing β-Glucan and antibiotics on performance and immune response, 3000 one-day-old broiler chicks were randomly allotted into five groups with 6 replicates and were fed basal diet(without antibiotic), basal diet plus Lincomycin+Maduramicin, basal diet plus Lincomycin, basal diet plus Lincomycin +p-Glucan, basal diet plus β-Glucan.The result showed that diet supplemented with P-Glucan significantly increased the HI antibody titers of NDV in the seventh day after the first inoculation (p<0.05) and in the fifth day after the second inoculation (p<0.05).Experiment three: Effects of β-Glucan on the performance and immune response of broiler chicks.480 one-day-old broiler chicks were allotted into five groups and each group with six replicates was provided a basal diet control or supplemented with antibiotics or supplemented with 25,50,100mg/kg β-glucan respectively. The result showed that diet supplemented with 50mg/kg P-Glucan significantly increased average daily gain, feed conversion ratio during 0 to 7 week and the relative weight of the spleen (p<0.05) on the twenty-first day.
