| Yazhou hyacinth bean (Amphicarpea trisperma Barker ex Jackson) is cultivated widely in the southwest of Hainan Island in China. It is one of important crop germplasm, which has many excellent characters, but low yield with extensive cultivation. In order to improve th?cultivation measures the study on the best nutrition conditions for Yazhou Hyac inth Bean was conducted with pot experiment, micro-area experiment and field experiment to study the suitable pH-values of soil, humidity of soil, nutrient propartion and fertilizer application for Yazhou Hyacinth Bean growing, fruiting, yield and quality. All results as follows.1.The suitable'sowing period is between the last August and September for Yazhou Hyacinth Bean growingSowing period significantly effects on Yazhou Hyacinth Bean growth, blossoming, yield and quality/The suitable sowing period is between the last August and September in Danzhou area in Hainan Province. The highest yield, higher protein content and higher hundred-grain weight can be gained when it is sowed in this period.,2. The suitable soil pH-value is between 5~9, and the best is between 6-8 for Yazhou Hyacinth Bean growingSoil pH-value very significantly effects on Yazhou Hyacinth Bean growth and reproduce. The plant can stands soil pH-value between 5 and 9, in which thestem's length and girth, leaf number and branch, plant biomass andyield of Yazhou Hyacinth Bean are all come up to the higher level and favors soil pH-value between 6 and 8, in which the plant biomass and yield reaches to the best.3.The suitable absolute moisture of soil is between 15% and 25% to Yazhou Hyacinth Bean growingDifferent humidity of soil is required in different periods when Yazhou Hyacinth Bean grows. Under the soil condition with absolute moisture between 20% and 25%, Yazhou Hyacinth Bean grows fast and gives higher yield, but the seed's quality is poor in some degree. In opposition, under the soil absolute moisture between 10% and 15%, the seed's quality is fine, but yield is low. So, it is suggested that the soil absolute moisture should be controlled between 20% and 25% for young plant, and decreased gradually in flowering and fruiting period, and declined to below 15% in mature period by adjusting the sowing time.4. The best nutrient proportion of N:P2O5:K2O is 4 :2 : 3 for Yazhou Hyacinth Bean growingOnly the best nutrient proportion benefits Yazhpu Hyacinth Bean's growing and reproducing. Yazhpu Hyacinth Bean' yield and quality all reaches to the better level when it is fertilized with the proportion of N:P2O5; K2O = 4: 2:3.5. The level of fertilizing, base-manure 5000 kg/hm2, N 559.5 kg/hm2, PzOj5 559.5 kg/hm2, K2O 357 kg/hm2, B and Mo 1-3 times foliage dressing, were applied in Danzhou Hainan to gain higher yield and good quality of Yazhou Hyacinth BeanThe levels of fertilizing, base-manure, nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium have significant effects on Yazhou Hyacinth Bean's plant morphogenesis,photosynthesis, plant biomass, yield, quality oi seed and absorption rate of elements of N, P, K. In the laterite in Danzhou, Hainan Province, base-manure, 5000 kg/hm2 were applied to Yazhou Hyacinth Bean growing that benefited the plant vegetative growth and promoted the yield. N 559.5 kg/hm2, 559.5 kg/hm2, KiO 357 kg/hm2 were applied the bean yield and quality reached to the better level and B and Mo foliar fertilizer are sprayed 1~3 times that would made the plant growing vine, absorbing more N, P, K nutrient and increasing photosynthesis rate and improving the yield and quality6.The N and K fertilizers should be applied when Yazhou Hyacinth Bean is in seedling and divarication stage, and rapidly available phosphorus should be applied in seedling, divarication ind fructification stage, but slow-release phosphorus should be applied as b ase manureFertilizer application period obviously effects on Yazhou Hyacinth Bean's growth, yield and quality.
