A total of 45 D*L*Y crossbred weaned piglets with average weight of about 10 Kg were selected and assigned to three groups. Two different kinds of Chinese herb feed additives(I and II) and antibiotic(chemical medicament) were supplemented respectively to 3 groups (Group I, Group II and Control Group ) to investigate the effects on the growing characteristics (i.e. daily weight gains, etc), diarrhea rate and biochemical quota of blood and function quota of immunity (IgG, IgM, IgA, Total protein, albumin,alexin3(C3), alexin4(C4), IL-2, positive ratio of T-lymphocytes). The whole feeding experiments divides into 4 stages, namely 10-20 Kg, 20-40 Kg, 40-70 Kg, 70-90 Kg. Compared with the Control Group, the results of the growing characteristics shows as follows:Daily weight gain in Group I increases by 6.54%,5.01%, 4.49% and 4.74% respectively in the four stages, while the feed conversion ratio decreases by 1.55%, 8.25%, 5.65% -0.03%respectively. Daily weight gain in Group II increases by 1.44%, 2.24%, 4.12% and 4.55% respectively, while the feed conversion ratio decreases by -2.50%> 6.01%> 6.21% 1.08%. The two treatment groups were found to be able to prevent piglets weighing 10-40 Kg from diarrhea effectively. Compared with the Control Group, in the stage of 10-20 Kg, 20-40 Kg, 40-70 Kg, Group I and Group II both get the blood biochemical quota and immunity function quota as follows: IgG of serum increases by 10.15% (PO.05) , 18.06% (P<0.01) and 12.28% (P<0.01) ; 8.07% (P<0.05), 9.47% (P<0.05) and 6.71% (P<0.05)o IgM increases by 11.37% (P<0.05), 10.78% (P>.05) and 11.83% (P<0.05); 5.88% (P<0.05), 9.95%(P<0.05) and 9.67% (P<0.05), IgA increases by 2.82% (P>.05) , 9.97% (P<0.05) and 9.21% (PO.05) ; 1.69% (P>.05), 8.39% (P<0.05) and 7.89% (P<0.05). Total protein increases by 16.05% (P<0.01) , 10.92% (P<0.01) and 22.38% (P<0.01) ; 8.90% (P<0.05), 6.85% (P<0.05) and 15.57%(P<0.05). Albumin increases by 18.23% (PO.05) , 20.34% (P>.01) and 21.69% (P<0.05) ; 8.90% (P>.05), 10.39%(P<0.05) and 9.28% (P>.05)? C3 of serum increases by 17.56% (P<0.05) , 22.32% (P<0.05) and 16.53% (P>.05); 12.56% (P<0.05), 11.16% (P>.05)and 9.83% (P>.05). C4of serum increases by 42.11% (P>0.05) , 59.09% (P<0.05) and 56.47% (P<0.01) : 31.58% (P>.05), 54.55% (P<0.05) and 38.82% (P<0.05). IL-2 increases by 8.66% (PO.05) , 6.93% (PO.05) and 9.36% (P<0.01) ; 5.80% (P>.05), 6.02% (P>.05)and 6.29% (P<0.05). During the growth stage of 20-40 Kg, compared with the Control Group, the positive rate of T-lymphocytes in Group I and Group II increases by 6.56% (P>0.05) and 2.19% (P>0.05) respectively. The results indicated that compared with Control Group, the supplement of Chinese herb feed additives I and n can improve obviously the piglets' the growing characteristics, effect the blood biochemical quota noticeably , thus upgrade the immunity function of piglets. It is also proved that the supplement of Chinese herb feed additives is equivalent or superior to parts of antibiotic (chemical medicament) in terms of the growth promotion, disease resistance. It provides the scientific theory basis for the popularizing applications of Chinese herb feed additives in porker production of non-environmental pollution and control of residues of medicine.
