Three sheep breeds Mongolian,Gansu Alpine Merino and Tan-yang,with Small Tailed Han Sheep as a reference breed were genetyped for 6 blood protein(enzyme) loci by vertical non-denatured polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(PAGE) in 4 sheep breeds.Genetic variation were observed in Hb,Tf and Es.There were 4 alleles at the loci of Tf in Mongolion and Small tailed Han Sheep 3 alleles in Gansu Alpine Merino and Tan-yang .The degree of genetic Vaviability estimated by Nei's expected average heterozygosity for the 6 blood protein loci was relatively higher in Mongolion (0.2482)than that in Tan-yang(0.2054).The average genetic diversities(HS) and that in the total population (HT) are 23.32% and 27.19%.The average genetic diversity among 4 sheep breeds(DST) is 0.0387,The genetic differentiation of total sheep population(GST) is 0.1423,which indicated that there is less vaviation(14.23%) among sheep population and the genetic differentiation is very limited among the sheep population.Genetic distance beteen breeds(population) were obtained using Nei's formula to construct a phylogenetic tree. The tree grouped Small Tailed Han Sheep and Mongolian in one branch,and then grouped Gansu Alpine Merino,while the Tan-yang had its own branch.At the base of examining blood protein polymorphisms,A comparation among different genotypes were given in body weight,height at withers ,body length,heart girth,circumference of cannon bone and lamb production of Small Tailed Han Sheep.The result show:the TfCC genotype of body weight and body length are highter than the TfBB significantly(P<0.05),they may are regared as the supplementar mark in Smail Tailed Han Sheep's early stage select seed,Others characters take on inferior relevance.
