Garlic (Allium sativum L.) is herb of lily section, and it is well known for its hot taste all over the world. Garlic has a wide application in different fields, and it can be made into condiment food forage additive and material of cosmetics. Garlic show the medical and healthy function of disinfect antibacterial anti-poison and so on. Garlic is favorite product with more and more people. At present, there are many kinds of seed garlic with good quality in China. Not only commercial garlic has played an important role in international market, but also exporting seed garlic is being paid more and more attentions. Because the quality standard of seed garlic is higher than ordinary garlic, garlic exporting is limited to some extent. The main causes leading to lower quality garlic are ascribed to that China lack of standardization technique systems. In this case, the integrated crucial techniques on seed production of exportation garlic were obtained from the following serial studies.1. Effect of different sowing date on plant growth, secondary growth and yield were studied. The result showed that the proper sowing date is between Sept.25th and Oct.5thMean while plant grows better, with lower secondary growth rate, less crack garlic, higher yielding and biomass, more profitable.2. Effect of different planting density on growth, yield and quality of garlic seedling were studied. The result indicated that planting density was relevant to garlic yield and exportation ratio significantly. Diameter of stem has a negative relation with planting density. Yield will rise with planting density increasing, but garlic seed with the diameter below 4.0cm will reduce. The profitable planting density is between 3 105plants/ha.and 3.75 105plants/ha.,and the best planting density is 3.3 105 plants/ha.3. Moss removing technique can increase yield and quality obviously. But seed weight and exportation rate decreased with the increase of moss removing height, the best height of removing moss is second leave from the top, and removing to fourth leave from the top is forbidden whether moss removing or taking out in production depend on market demand.4. The size of seed petal showed close relation to the agronomic characteristics during the growth of garlic. The big, fresh, and full garlic with the 5g/petal should be selected as seeds. The seedlings grow synchronously and strongly, as well as better quality and higher yield for garlic can be obtained.5. Enough organic fertilizer and more P and K are good for garlic growth, especially compound fertilizer is better than N.BB organic fertilizer exhibited significant effects on garlic growth with the most addition for 600kg/ hm2. K application is one of the crucial techniques for obtaining high yield and good quality of garlic, because K is necessary for garlic production. The result indicated that the reasonable application of K is between 300kg/ bm2.and 450kg/ hm2.6. The optimum harvest periods is between 25th to 30th of May when the seeds are sown in the first ten-day period of Oct. Harvest too early or too late, the yield, quality and profit of garlic are all decreased. The seeds are sown earlier or later, the yield, quality, and profit of garlic will be all declined.
