Gerbera is one of the most important five cut-flower crops in the world. It has become an ideal material for bouquet, flowerbasket, ikebana and so forth because of its big flowers, wonderful colors. It stands high in many people's favor. Gerbera is cross-pollinated plant, and its offspring varies through seed propagation. Accordingly gerbera is always yielded by asexual reproduction, and the traditional method is plant division propagation. However, the propagation rate is so small in Gerbera by plant division propagation that the annual propagation rate is only 5~6. The seed propagation and plant division propagation cannot meet the consumer demands.Plant tissue culture has such advantages as multiplication without limit of seasons, stable heredity and production with less space etc. Meanwhile, it can overcome the disadvantages of seed propagation and plant division propagation. Therefore, plant tissue culture has a promising future in micropropagation of gerbera and has developed rapidly in recent years. Whereas such problems as high devotions and high risks still exist in the process of commercial production because tissue culture in gerbera is the result of science and technology and development. The problem of high cost stands out increasingly during commercial production though enormous gerbera seedlings are produced in short time by tissue culture. So we should take action to improve and optimize the key techniques and practical operation norms in the process of tissue culture with the exception of market competition. Thus the optimization of tissue culture technique and the commercial production is of great significance in research and generalization in gerbera. In this article, the key technology of plant tissue culture in gerbera was analyzed and some countermeasures were brought forward to enhance the economic benefit of commercial production in gerbera tissue culture in accordance with the practical production of commercial gerbera seedlings. The major achievements are as follows:Firstly, a novel regeneration system of gerbera was established, in which explants were from the upper petiole segments of gerbera. The origin of explants was not limited by seasons, and carried no fungus. So the explants could be inoculated without surface sterilization, which...
