In this paper, the current research situation of cleaning mechanism was described clearly, the using background, theoretical foundation and current situation of the technology of virtual prototyping was analyzed, it is very important for us to use the advanced designing technique of virtual prototyping in the course of research and development of the combined harvester.Through the virtual design of the vibrating sieve, we have realized the application practice of the technology of the virtual prototyping on the agricultural machinery.1. Have set up the virtual prototype of the vibrating sieve, the simulation has been done to the prototype, the running course of the vibrating sieve was shown ocularly, and have measured the change laws of the acceleration of the surface of vibrating sieve real-time, have defined the direction angle of acceleration of the surface of vibrating sieve, have analyzed the motion state of the crop-straw mixture on the sieve, on terms that have not done any simplifying assumption to the organization, have drawn the motion state discriminant of the crop-straw mixture on the sieve, the discriminant can confirm the motion state of any the crop-straw mixture on the sieve.2. Have set up the parameter modeling the vibrating sieve, have defined 4 design variables, including crank rotational speed, crank length, length of eccentric rod and length of pendulum rod, have finished the parameter treatment of the virtual prototype, make the model become a interrelated organic whole .On this basis, regarding the peak value of acceleration of surface of vibrating sieve as the goal of measuring, have done Design Study, have drawn the influence relation curve of each parameter and the peak value of acceleration, two design parameters that have largest influence on performance of the prototype are the rotational speed of the crank and length of crank. According to this result, regard the rotational speed of crank and length of crank as the design variables, Design of Experiments and Optimization were carried on to the prototype, the most optimization parameter association of the organization was drawn.
