This thesis researches the application of Virtual Prototyping technology to the product exploration by researching the multifunction lawn maintenance machine. There are three functions of the multifunction lawn maintenance machine: aerator, sod cutter and comber. With the SolidWorks software, three-dimensional model of the multifunction lawn maintenance machine has been constructed. Corresponding kinematics and dynamics models have been established. The virtual prototypings of the three functions have been constructed. With the ADAMS software, simulation of the multifunction lawn maintenance machine has been done. With the result of kinematics and dynamics analysis, some performances of the multifunction lawn maintenance machine have been verified and some problems of it have been found: the power of engine less than needed, the speeds of different function are not compatible. These results are consistent with test results of physical prototyping. With these simulation results, corresponding improvement opinions have been proposed. The work of improvement design of the multifunction lawn maintenance machine has been completed. What has been done in this thesis provides an effective method and experience for application of the Virtual Prototyping technology to the new product exploration. |
