Shatian Pumelo is a flavorful fruit because of its big size and good quality. Bagging technique of Shatian Pumelo is one of the most important measures to produce no-pollution fruit. However, the technique is relative to many factors such as different species, different cultivars and so on. Therefore, the effect of the technique would not be expressed as well as it should do if it is applied improperly. The aim of the research is to systematically study the key measures and influencing factors of the bagging technique for Shatian Pumelo .It could offer academic guidances to the techniques and its practical application in production of Shatian Pumelo. The studies mainly carried out on 10-year-old Shatian Pumelo trees through comparing various bagging measures during the fruit growth period in the filed, the results were as following:1. The experiments were performed to use 3 different bagging materials, including white plastic film, white Wufangbu and "ShengDa"special fruit bag, the effects of which were compared. The results indicated the general effects of white Wufangbu bag and "ShengDa"special fruit bag were better. Moreover, white Wufangbu bag could be used repeatedly.2. After the second physiological fruit drop of Shatian Pumelo, the experiments were carried out at four times, 20~th May, 5~th June, 20~th June, 5~th July to select the best time for bagging. The result suggested that the early and middle of June was the optimized period for bagging in MeiXian,Guangdong.3. The experiments were conducted to test the influence of removing bags or not 30 daysbefore ripeness.The results showed that the measure to remove bag ahead was benefit to fruit color, sugar content and flavor improvement..â– a4. The results suggested that bagging could promote the growth and development of the fruits. The average weight of per fruit increased and bagging had little influence on the content of soluble solids ^ titratable acidity % Vitamin C . And the fruit flavor was basically kept. In addition, bagging significantly improved the fruit exterior qualities.5. The store capability of bagging and non- bagging fruits was tested after being treated with fresh-keeping reagent or not. The results showed that bagging could significantly improve the store capability of Shatian Pumelo fruit.6. Bagging could avoid the fruits directly touching with pesticides, so it could significantly decrease all kinds of content of pesticide. Therefore, it is an important way to produce the no-pollution Shatian Pumelo fruit.
