This paper consisted of two parts:Part1: Study on the production, absorption and utilization of acetate and butyrate in the rumen of sheep and measurement of dietary MLSExp1: The production and absorption of acetate and butyrate in the rumen of sheep and the measurement of MLSSix Inner Mongolian semifine-wool wethers (1.5 old years, 29-29.2 kg BW) fed a 1.0 M basal diet and fitted with a ruminal and a duodenum cannula were used to study the production, absorption, passage and utilization of acetate and butyrate in the rumen by simulating continuous feeding and pulse-continuous infusion technology. Rumen steady state was obtained through eight equal portions feeding daily, and dietary metabolizable lipogenous substances (MLS) was calculated subsequently. The results showed that: (1) Under the basal diet condition , the principal production rate of acetate and butyrate in the rumen of sheep were 61.66 mmol/h and 23.04 mmol/h respectively; the absorption rate of acetate and butyrate were 47.86 mmol/h and 17.86 mmol/h respectively; the passage rate of acetate and butyrate were 14.52 mmol/h and 5.19 mmol/h respectively; the fractional absorption rate of acetate and butyrate were 76.33% and 77.52% respectively. (2) the regression equation between the principal production rate (X, mmol/h)and the absorption rate of acetate and butyrate(Y, mmol/h) in the rumen of sheep were as follows: for acetate: Y=0.6905X+4.4554(R2=0.9973,n=5),for butyrate: Y=0.1514X+14.311(R2=0.8227,n=5);the regression equation between the production rate of acetate and butyrate(X, mmol/h) in the rumen of sheep and the rumen concentration of acetate and butyrate(Y, mmol/L) were as follows: for acetate: y = 0.3739x + 5.4456(R2 = 0.9899, n=5), for butyrate: y = 0.3617x + 1.8599(R2 = 0.9247,n=5.)(3)Dietary MLS and MG value were 135.69g and 43.83g respectively; the ratio of MLS/MG was 3.10; the ratio of C2+C4 energy and of C3+C6 energy in dietary ME were 89.24%和11.30% respectively.Exp2: The utilization of acetate and butyrate in the rumen in splanchnic tissues of the sheepThree inner Mongolian semifine-wool wethers (1.5 old years, 29-31kg BW) fed 1.0 M basal diet and fitted with chronic indwelling catheters in the mesenteric vein, hepatic...
