Objective:This research was aimed at observing the effect of cluster needing of scalp acupuncture on the neurological function score and the GFAP protein expression of rats with cerebral ischemia after MCAO model, and studying the mechanism of cluster needing of scalp acupuncture on cerebral ischemia rats’ neural recovery.Method:The experiment selected 48 healthy male SD rats, and divided them into 6 groups in a random way:7d cluster needing group (group A-7d),14d cluster needing group (group A-14d),7d model group (group B-7d),14d model group (group B-I4d),7d sham operation group (group C-7d), 14d sham operation group (group C-14d). Group A and group B were made by middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) with improved monofilament. Evaluated the nerve function on the 24 hour post the operation and 1h before collecting the brains in every group. The rats in group A were treated with cluster scalp acupuncture everyday, and no treatment in group B and C. Collected the brains and tested the expression of GFAP in cerebral ischemia rats by Springbio method.Results:1.The data of the nerve function score prompt the differences among group A,B and C were statistically significant (P<0.05), indicates the models were successfully made. Among them, in terms of the score of group 7d at the 7th day, group A was better than group B, and the differences was comparable (P>0.05). In terms of the score of group 14d at the 14th day, group A was better than group B, and the differences was statistically significant. Statistical analysis showed that cluster needling of scalp acupuncture for cerebral ischemia rats has favorable effect on neural recovery.2. The data of GFAP protein expression indicates:at the 7th day, the differences among group A and B were statistically significant, and the GFAP expression value of group A was less than group B. At the 14th day, the differences among group A and B were comparable(P>0.05), but the GFAP expression value of group A was less than group B. Statistical analysis showed that cluster needling of scalp acupuncture for cerebral ischemia rats has favorable effect on decreasing the expression value of GFAP protein.Conclusion:1, Cluster needling of scalp acupuncture can reduce the score of the neurological function in cerebral ischemia rats, and it has favorable effect on neural recovery.2. Cluster needling of scalp acupuncture can decrease the expression of GPAP protein, that indicates it has promoting effect to the process of recovery after neuron damage indirectly.
