| Purpose: Exhaustive formula combining swimming rat model of heart failure after myocardial infarction by ligation of left anterior descending artery was observed Zhen Wu Tang on serum matrix metalloproteinase failure-9(MMP-9) and matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor-1(TIMP-1), and to explore the mechanism of treatment of heart failure, thus providing a theoretical basis for Zhen Wu Tang of clinical application.Material and method: The 80 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into a control group(control group) 10, 70 surgical group. Surgery group before descending artery ligation rats were then cold water once a day swimming exhaustive formula, resulting in heart failure model after myocardial infarction, survival after successful model of 50 rats were randomly divided into traditional Chinese medicine group(Zhen Wu Tang high-dose group, middle dose group and low dose group), Western(captopril), model group were given drug intervention 15 days. By enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) detection of serum MMP-9, TIMP-1 and brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) of changes.Results: Compared with the normal group,the levels of BNP and MMP-9 increased distinctly in model group(P <0.05), the level of TIMP-1 decreased distinctly(P <0.05);compared with the model group,the level of BNP decreased distinctly in each group(P <0.05),the level of MMP-9 decreased distinctly in moderate-dose group and high-dose group(P<0.05),the level of TIMP-1 increased distinctly(P <0.05);compared with the western group,the levels of BNP and MMP-9 decreased distinctly in high-dose group(P<0.05),the level of TIMP-1 increased distinctly(P <0.05).Conclusion:1. rat anterior descending coronary artery ligation, with exhaustive style swimming animal model of heart failure can be copied. 2. Zhen Wu Tang can reduce heart failure rat serum BNP, MMP-9 levels. 3. Zhen Wu Tang can improve heart failure serum TIMP-l levels in rats.
