Some ancient record shows that Coptis was one of the best herbs. Coptis medicinal herbs, has clear heat dry wet, purging detoxification effect. Chongqing attributable to the traditional producing areas and one of the first plant areas of Coptis. Coptis in Shizhu (CQ) has another name called "chicken feet Coptis". Coptis in Shizhu (CQ) for its production stable, excellent quality and has been praised by both at home and abroad.Artemisia annua,(Artemisia annua L Oliver). Artemisia annua as a traditional herbal has been used for two thousands of years. Artemisia annua was good in Heatstroke disease, and it also has strong efficacy to treat malaria. It always been considered the first drug treatment of malaria by us. Artemisia annua produced in You Yang (ChongQing) was considered the best production treatment for malaria drugs raw material. We had made a systematic study from the following several aspects of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQing. 1 Pharmacognosy identification of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQingThe Pharmacognosy identification:the outward appearance, microstructure and TLC identication of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in Chongqing. The results show:there has no difference between altitude and year in the outward appearance of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in Chongqing. Result of TLC identification:Chromatogram of the samples has the same color, the same quantity of fluorescent spots as the chromatogram of their contrast of chemical and plant. All the results proved that the authenticity of the samples which we used in our research. 2 Regular inspections of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQingRegular inspections:moisture, extract, total ash and acid insoluble of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQing had been exanimated.The results show:all the samples were not out of the regulations in《Chinese Pharmacopoeia》.Also, it proved that the samples conform to the basic regulations to Chinese medicine. 3 Harmful substances of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQingWe used the atomic absorption spectrometry and atomic fluorescence spectrometry analyzed the Pb,Cd and As of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQing. The results show:the Pb.Cd and As contents in the samples comply with the regulations.And we used the GC to analyze the pesticide of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQing. The results show:the pesticide contents in the samples comply with the regulations. 4 Effective ingredient of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQingWe had selection the effective ingredients of chromatographic conditions of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in Chongqing. We used the orthogonal design way to optimize the method of extraction berberine (Coptis), Artemisinin (Artemisia annua).Then, we determinate the contents of berberine (Coptis), Artemisinin (Artemisia annua) from different altitude and year by HPLC.The results show:there have differences in the contents of berberine (Coptis) from different altitude(P<0.05). The samples from altitude in 1600m have the highest contents. And, there have differences in the contents of berberine (Coptis) from different years(P<0.05). The samples from the fifth year have the highest contents.The results show:there have differences in the contents of Artemisinin (Artemisia annua) from different altitude(P<0.05). The samples from altitude in 900m have the highest contents. And, there have differences in the contents of Artemisinin (Artemisia annua) from different years(P<0.05). The samples from the year of 2010 have the highest contents. 5 Establishment of HPLC fingerprint of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQingAfter, we analyzed the chromatographic peak of chromatograms that Coptis produced in Chongqing. We got 10 mutual peaks. Then, we selected 5 strong peaks that from the 10 mutual peaks to establishment the digital fingerprint by analyzed their relative area and relative time.After we analyzed the chromatographic peak of chromatograms that Artemisia annua produced in ChongQing. We got 9 mutual peaks. Then, we selected 4 strong peaks that from the 9 mutual peaks to establishment the digital fingerprint by analyzed their relative area and relative time.By the digital fingerprint, we can Control the Coptis and Artemisia annua quality which produced in ChongQing more effective. 6 Establishment of quality standards of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQingBy all above the research content, we establishment the Quality standards of Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQing (draft).Provided theoretical basis for comprehensive control the Coptis and Artemisia annua produced in ChongQing.
