Study On Differences Of Small Intestine Morphology In Different Varieties Of Beef Cattle

To investigate the differences of small intestine histology in different varieties of beef cattle, samples of small intestine jejunum and ileumin adult in Grassland Red, Limousine cattle, Charolais beef and Simmentel cattle were taken out and embedded in paraffin sections. Sections were stained by HE conventional methods and the images were processed and analysed with the Image-Pro-Plus5.0 software and Statistics in Medicine SPASS 16.0. The index include villus length, villus width, thickness, crypt depth, Value of villus length to crypt depth (V/C), mucous depth and muscle thickness. Statistical analysis was made based on the observation under optical microscope and measurement. The study was carried out aiming at offering some morphological guidelines for a Fine feeding of cattle and nutritional physiology.The results showed the villus length of small intestine jejunum in Charolais cattle is longest, Limousine cattle is shortest.the difference of the Villus length of small intestine jejunum among Red Steppe and the other three varieties are highly significant (P<0.01), Limousin compared with the other three varieties are highly significant (p<0.01), between Charolais and Simmental cattle is not significant (P>0.05). Crypt depth of Red Steppe is deepest, Limousine is the most shallow.Limousine cattle compared with the other three are very significant (P<0.01), among the other three varieties was not significant (P>0.05). Jejunum mucosa V/C value compared to the maximum value is Charolais cattle, prairie minimum value is Red Steppe. V/C value of Red Steppe compared with the other three are highly significant (p<0.01), and among the other three were no significant differences (p>0.05). Jejunum mucosal thickness of Simmental is thickest, the Limousine cattle is thinnest. Limousine difference compared with the other three were highly significant (P<0.01), between Grassland Red and Charolais cows was significant (P<0.05), between Charolais and Simmental cattle was not significant (p>0.05). Jejunal muscularis thickness of Grassland Red is thickest, the Limousin cattle is thinnest. difference of Red Steppe compared with the other three was highly significant (P<0.01), among Charolais cattle and the other three were highly different (p<0.01), between Limousin and Simmental is not significant (P>0.05). Jejunum villus width of among Charolais cattle, Simmental and Red Steppe were close to each other, and the difference among the three was not significant(p>0.05), the narrowest is Limousin cattle, and among Limousine cattle compared with the other three are very significantly (P<0.01).The results showed the villus length of small intestine ileum in Limousine cattle is longest, Red Steppe cattle is shortest. Ileum villus width of Simmental cattle is widest, Limousin cattle is narrowest and the difference Simmental cattle compared with the other three was highly significant(p<0.01), between Limousin cattle and Red Steppe was significant (P<0.05). between Limousin cattle and Charolais cattle was significant (P<0.05). between Charolais cattle and Red Steppe was not significant (p<0.05).This research demonstrates the conclusion that:There are some differences of the Villus in varieties beef. From the small intestine tissue obtained comprehensive analysis of relevant indicators, both Charolais cattle and Simmental cattle have strong digestion and absorption ability. Beef cattle intestinal histologic related indexes of small intestinal mucosa thickness and the muscular layer thickness Different varieties significantly different. There are similar intestinal histological structure in different varieties of beef cattle, but some differences in ejunum and ileum organization structure,The main difference is that the jejunum villus are like finger and ileum villus are shorter; Ileum submucosa contains a lot of lymph nodes, but jejunum did not.
