alfalfa single silage, alfalfa and Roegneria turczaninovii and corn mixed silage, alfalfa silage with additives,have carried out in breeding farm silage of Linxi County in Inner Mongolia in 2009-2010, the main results are as follows:(1) Fermentation of alfalfa single silage is weak, low acid production, the pH, lactate acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid content between alfalfa varieties is significant differences, the fermentation quality of alfalfa(Zhungeer) was best,and the pH, lactate acid, butyric acid, ammonia nitrogen content were 4.87,1.30%,0.09%,5.01% respectively. alfalfa silage compared to raw materials, the crude protein content different alfalfa varieties were lower besides alfalfa(Zhungeer),the neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber and crude fat were increased after silage. nutrient contents of silage varieties were significantly different besides phosphorus.(2) Alfalfa and Roegneria turczaninovii and corn mixed silage, the lactic acid content was significantly higher than alfalfa single silage (P <0.05), and were significant increasing trend with the increasing of the ratio of Roegneria turczaninovii and corn in mixed silage (P <0.05), the acetic acid and propionic acid content were not insignificant trend , butyric acid content produce less or no and were significantly lower than alfalfa single silage (P <0.05). With the increasing of the ratio of Roegneria turczaninovii and corn in mixed silage the crude protein content was significantly decreased (P <0.05), the neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content increased significantly (P <0.05).(3) Alfalfa silage with apple pomace and potato dreg addition produce more lactic acid, pH decreased ,butyric acid produce less or no during the ensiling process.silage dry matter and neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content were lower than raw materials, and was significantly decreased with the increase of apple pomace and potato dreg addition, protein content changed less before and after silage; Alfalfa silage with apple pomace and potato dreg addition significantly improved the fermentation quality of silage (P <0.05).(4) Alfalfa silage treatment with previous fermented juice ,were higher lactic acid content and lower pH, butyric acid is no. Compared with the raw materials, crude protein of silage content increased, neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content decreased, and significantly decreased with the increasing of the added amount of previous fermented juice (P <0.05). fermented quality of cellulose treatment was inferior to previous fermented juice treatment, but crude protein content of cellulase treatment was higher than the previous fermented juice treatments, the neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content were lower than the control treatment and previous fermented juice treatments. Treatment with two additives produced more lactic acid after silage, produced less butyric acid and ammonia nitrogen, content of crude protein were the highest, neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content was significantly lower (P <0.05), silage quality is better than two additives alone.(5) Adding acid substances treatments could significantly increase the lactic acid content, lower butyric acid and ammonia nitrogen content and pH value (P <0.05), the crude protein content of adding acid substances treatments was significantly higher than control (P <0.05), neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber were significantly lower than the control and raw materials. the effect of different additives on the fermentation characteristics were more different, in which the fermentation of formic acid treatment was the best.(6) The different water content of alfalfa treatments lactic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid and ammonia nitrogen content was significant difference, propionic acid, butyric acid, ammonia nitrogen content tended to decrease with reduced water content, dry matter, crude protein, neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content was lower than raw materials, and was increasing with lower water content of alfalfa. Adding molasses treatments under the conditions of water content 69.27% can significantly improve the fermentation quality of silage (P <0.05), while adding molasses treatments under the conditions of water conten52.14% and 40.14% moisture, fermentation quality improvement is not obvious, crude protein, neutral detergent fiber and acid detergent fiber content of the molasses treatments were lower than the control and raw materials.
