Research On Varietal Characters Of New Sugarcane Varieties

Research was done on agronomic, physiological, technical properties and quality deterioration of five new sugarcane varieties : Y2, Y3, Y6, Dz Dz93/102 and Dz Dz93/94 . T22 was taken as the control variety. The results were as followed.1. In agronomic characters: Dz93/94 had the higher budding rate and Y3 had the lower budding rate .Y2 had the higher tillering rate and Dz93/102 had the lower tillering rate. During the whole growth time, Y3 and Y2 grew faster and Dz93/102 was the slower.2. In technical properties: the quality analysis showed T22 and Y6 were of extra high sucrose-content, other varieties content of sucrose were more than 15.00%. All tested varieties had high purity of cane juice. T22 and Y3 had low content of glucose.3. In physiological characters: the indexes of chiorophyll content, NRA activity and acid invertase activity and so on certified that Y3 , Y6 and T22 were excellent ,yet Dz93/94 and Dz93/102 were bad.4.
