In order to exploit Leucaena leucocephala (LL)as one of high protein feeds for monogastric animals, the following tests had been carried through: The secure research of diet with Leucaena Leucocephala on the mice , Digestive trial of meat rabbits to Leucaena leucocephala, Effect of different proportional Leucaena leucocephala powder in diet on growth of meat rabbits. There is the research in China for the first time.Experiment 1: The secure research of diet with Leucaena Leucocephala on the miceThe results showed that: 1.The performance of the groups of FeCl₃ untreated LL was less than the group of 1.2%FeCl₃ treated LL, and the Blood routine values , Serum biochemical values of the mice were affected obviously (P<0.05) . 2.The performance , internal organ and the Blood routine values , Serum biochemical values of the groups of 1.2%FeCl₃ treated LL were not affected obviously ( P>0.05) .The result indicated that, FeCl₃ treated LL could be used in feeding and the proportion of LL powder as 10% was more suitable.Experiment 2: Digestive trial of meat rabbits to Leucaena leucocephalaThe results showed that: l.The nutrient content of LL was following: crude protein (CP) 25.0323%, crude fibre (CF) 11.6703%, crude fat (EE) 6.4124%, ash 7.8299%, nitrogen-free extract (NFE) 44.2152%, Ca 1.7653%, P 0.2826%.
