Clerodendranthus spicatus. is a kind of perennial herb,which belongs to Clerodendr- anthus kudo of Labiatae。Its scientific name is Clerodendranthus spicatus.(Thunb.)C.Y. Wu because its stamen is long and thin,and likes cat,s beard。It originates from tropical areas such as Indonesia,Burma,Malaysia and Philippines。In recent years,there are some wild distribution at 950-1050m elevation of the tropical areas and subtropical in our country,s Guangxi and Yunnan。Of 2000 years,the doctor of Dai nationality in Yunnan cure well difficulty and pain in micturition,lumbage etc. urinary disease by it。The folk doctors in Hainan had begun to cure the diseases such as acute and chronic nephritis,urocystitis and urological system stone by it several hundred years ago。The current study showed it has seven kinds of pharmacologic effect,including diuresi,discharge stone,antibiosis,antiinflammation,be good for the kidney,to improve chronic kindey function exhaustion and to enhance immunity。In the course of the research on our university fund project about"Investigation on resources of folk prescription medicinal plants in Hainan",we found the kind of super- natural efficiency plant。Its deep research is in order to sever for more people。The major contents of the reseach are as follows。By the system investgation on its distribution in seventeen cities and countries in Hainan about three years,we found that there are some wild Clerodendranthus spicatus. Thunb.)C.Y.Wu in Bawan Forest natural protection area,while nothing in Wuzhishan and Jianfengling national nature protection area。There are some artifical Clerodendranthus spicatus. Thunb.)C.Y.Wu in Danzhou,Chuangjiang,Sanya,Qiongzhong,Tunchuang,Tongza,Linshui and Haikou。Some people in Wenchuang planted the kind of plant,but not succeed。There are not any wild and artifical one in other areas in Hainan。The research used four methods successfully to breed it,including layer propagation,division propagation,cuttage propagation and rapid propagation by tissue culture。In layer propagation,its roots begin to germinate from the fourth day,the length of its roots is to 2-3cm on the tenth day and it may be replanted about fifteen days。In division propagation,...
