Gladiolus is one of the important cutting flowers, which is loved deeply by people all over the world. With the development of economy and improvement of standard of living, demand quantity of Gladiolus will be increased. In abroad, the studies in gladiolus focus on planting skills. Studies on bulb degeneration, variety classification, flower color heredity, new variety breeding are less. Compared to developed country ,there is a great gap.Exploitation of germplasm is basis of gladiolus breeding. At present, gladiolus varieties that are planted all over the world are not original species, but hybrids of different species, mutation, varieties. Therefore, study on germplasm of gladiolus is very important . This paper studied 8 varities of gladiolus from Morphologic, Morphological classification, enzymology and so on. The result shows:1. Morphological indexs such as height , width of leaf ,number of leaf etc. and biologic characteristic were studied in several species in gladiolus.The result shows that comprehensive character of No.4 was best, that of No.8 was inferior.2. According to shape of flower, No.8 and No.1 belong to kind that flower of which was big, The flower of No.2, No.3, No.5, No.6, No.7 all was medium. According to size of flower, No.1, No.2 and No.4 belong to kind that flower of which is big, No.7 belong to kind that flower of which like little butterfly, No.3, No.5, No.8 belong to kind that flower of which like barginger of spring. No.6 belong to kind that flower of which like Irises. Color of flower of No.1 and No.4 is light red, Color of flower of No.2 is white, Color of flower of No.3, No.6, No.8 is red, Color of flower of No.5 is yellow, Color of flower of No.7 is compound.3.The Peroxidase Isoenzymes and Esterase Isoenzymes of eight Gladiolus species were measured by the method of polypropylene gel electrophoresis.The results showed: in Peroxidase Isoenzymes of Gladiolus,that there were nine bands in leaves, and there were five bands in the petals and there were six bands in the stamen; in Esterase Isoenzymes of Gladiolus, that there were four bands in leaves, and there were four bands in the petals and there were fourteen bands in the stamen. The genetic relationships of No.1 and No.5 varieties of Gladiolus were far away from that of the other, the benetic relationships of the No.2,No.3,No.4,No.8 varieties of Gladiolus was very close, the No.6 and the No.7 varieties...
