The wild medicinal material Xiao Hong Shen is the root of Rubia yunnanensis (Franch.)Diels.,which belong to Rubiaceae.When we cultivate it,density and Ray Passing Rate(RPR)are the two important factors influencing its yield and quality.So it is a important research content for its standard cultivation to make clear of the growing rules of Xiao Hong Shen in different RPR and different density and then to choose the best compound group of the two factors.Under all of the other factors are same,this research takes the density and RPR as research objects.Through the systemic observating and statistics on the growing process of Xiao Hong Shen in different districts compounding with three different density and four different RPR condition and comparing the cultivated medicinal material with wild medicinal material on its medicinal components,we want to choose out the best compound group of RPR and density.Now the results are as following:1)Density and RPR influence Xiao Hong Shen's period of growing,size of its leaves,form of its plants,yield,the parts for medicine,et al notably.And there is interaction between density and RPR.2)In the density of 23,000 per mu,Xiao Hong Shen grows best than the other two density conditions.Individuals are harmony in colony and the yield is highest.3)In the RPR of 75%,Xiao Hong Shen grows best and the yield is prominent highest than the other three RPR conditions.4)In the density of 23,000 per mu and the RPR of 75%,the yield of Xiao Hong Shen is highest then the other compounding,reach 115.66 Kg per mu.And in this condition,its medicinal components also reach the criterion.So this compound group is the best condition as for the two factors in cultivating Xiao Hong Shen.
