Investigation And Introduction Of Germplasm Resource Of Wide Ornamental Grass In Daqing Area

The ornamental grasses have a lot of excellent characteristics in the scene-construction and ecological features which other materials cannot compare, people pay more attention to the importance of the ornamental grass. There is an extensive foreground to spread the application of them. Overseas, ornamental grass have begun to spring up since the 1980's, and now they have already got a broad application in gardening scene-construction, family horticulture, and roadside planting. In China, ornamental grasses are still the uncommon things, no scientific research units or individuals have done any research so far. This study offered a reference to the introduction of the wild grass for the first time. In conclusion:1,The germplasm resource of wide ornamental grass is very resourceful in the plain and everglade in Daqing area. Lot's of them are very useful for landscape and horticulture. We found 49 ornamental grass with good applicable prospects. They belong to 29 genus and 6 family.2,Pay more attention about landscape application and morphological character, we discussed the ornamental character of plant types, leaves, flowers, metre and brio etc. In conclusion, the hight changed sharply from ten centimeter to one metre. Such as Phragmites communis and Typha laxmanni can catch 2 metre over. But Alopecurus aequalis and Carex eremopyroides only is under 20 centimetres. Most of them is fascicular, but a lot of single one can make the same result, such as Cyperus glomeratus. About leaves, Typha laxmanni and Acorus calamus have striped leaves, but Stipa baicalensis and Juncus gracillimus have acicular leaves. About leaf colour, only Puccinellia tenuiflora is blue. About texture, Typha laxmanni is smooth and thick, but Equisetum ramosissimum is rough. About anthotaxy, most of them are panicle, spica and cyme, and they have different colours, such as purple, brown, yellow and so on. About metre and brio, most of the ornamental tableted grass can bring us elegant feeling, such as tableted Phragmites communis. Above all, these germplasm resources have different kinds of ecotope to fit different kinds of plant design.3,According to the investigation, to introduce Hordeum jubatum, Hordeum brevisubulatum, Stipa baicalensis, Koeleria cristata and PuccineUia tenuiflora, they all survived at last. The blooming and bearing are normal. So their adaptability is strong, can be introduced easily. After that, they need less water,. So we can say that they are abstemious, Coarse-grained managemented and low-cost.4,The experiments after pruning of early flowering Hordeum jubatum and Hordeum brevisubulatum tell us that Hordeum jubatum can bloom three times have good plant type with pruning. Although Hordeum brevisubulatum can't bloom, its plant type is regular and flourish. This study discussed the determination, introduction, acclimation, and new variety breeding of the germplasm resource of ornamental grass in north area. It is useful for the new variety breeding of cold-resistant and saline-alkali tolerance, and it is very significative for the ornamental grass's extension of landscape application in north gardens.
