| Cuttings of wild Akebia trifoliate (Thunb.) Koidz plants growing on Tianchishanwas used as materials for the study. Cuttage rooting performances and root initiatingposition of younger and old stems was observed and investigated when treated withquick dipping and/or soaking cuttings in different rooting regulators, and thentransplanted in different media and in different transplanting season. Experiment showedthat: cuttings of Akebia trifoliate (Thunb.) Koidz plants were able to re-root whentransplanted in late March, middle June and middle October, in which, transplanted inlate March rooted best; cuttings derived from biennial stems were better than that fromannual shoot, while biennial stem cuttings with thickness of≥0.5cm and length of7-10cm selected showed best rooting potentiality; river sand was the best medium forcutting transplanting, river sand mixed with sawdust the next-best, and garden soil withpeat, vermiculite and perlite the worst; regarding rooting regulators, IBA treatment gaverise to the best rooting result and IAA the worst, while there were an effect tendencyfrom strong to weak: IBA>NAA>ABT>IAA. The best corresponding treatmentconcentration of different treatment of rooting regulators were:50mg/L>100mg/L>25mg/L>200mg/L in 2 hrs soaking treatment and 1000 mg/L>600 mg/L>0mg/L inquick dipping treatment; significant differences of effect on rooting performance ofAkebia trifoliate (Thumb.) cuttings treated in different time length of rooting regulatorswere observed, e.g. in quick dipping treatment with IBA 1000mg/L, the effectivenessdecline tendency was 5s>10s>20s,while 5s was the best, 10s the next-best and 20sthe worst. The optimal treatment combinations were: soaking method-biennial ripe woodcuttings+2 hrs of IBA 50mg/L+river sand medium; quick dipping method-biennial ripewood cuttings+5s of IBA 1000mg/L+river sand medium. Most new roots of Akebia trifoliate (Thunb.) Koidz cuttings initiated from corticaltissue of periderm of the shoot, and some adventitious roots occasionally differentiatedfrom cutting callus. Re-rooting of Akebia trifoliate (Thunb.) Koidz cuttings belongs toperiderm rooting. |
