Pinus massoniana Lamb. is a species of Pinus Linn of Pinaceae, which is widely distributed in China and its amounts is the most in one . The volume of Pinus massoniana Lamb accounts for half of forest volume in southern China. Adaptability of Masson pine is powerful. It may grow in the places such as aridity or sterility soil, clay , gravel soil, mountain ridge and lacune of bare rock. Masson pine is adapted to acid or subacid soil and warm climate, but it can not tolerate waterlogging, high-salt and high-alkali soil. At the same time, it is of undergrowth in the soil of high-calcium content and the soil which forms by weathering of limestone. Masson pine is mainly used in afforestation and production of raw material of industry in southern China, Due to its straight texture of timber, its thick structure and long fiber it is .also the raw material of forest industry, forest product industry and paper industry, Simultaneously, it is a kind of main tree species which is used to get grease in China.Chongqing is a suitable area fitiing for growing of Pinus massoniana Lamb. However, production base for high quality seeds of clone tree of Masson pine hasn't been established at present in Chongqing. Cuttage propagation technology of Pinus massoniana Lamb. on the basis of characteristics of climate, environment and soil of Chongqing has not been mentioned. Meanwhile, seedlings was commonly applied to the establishment of Masson pine. For this reason, the author carried out cuttage propagation technology of improved pure-clone tree of Masson pine in order to speed up virescence and scientifically guide afforestation and forest management. The tests had been carried out in fast-breeding base of YaKe CO. in Xinglong town of Yubei District of Chongqing . The single-factor experiment of cuttage medium, degree of lignifications, with or without terminal bud and cuttage months, the three-factors random experiment of different growth regulators, concentrations and treatment times, the two-factors random experiment of cutting length and cottage medium was implemented separately. The effect of medium on cuttage of Masson pine was studied by using different media such as expanded perlite, sand, purple soil, yellow soil under the tree of Masson pine, humus soil etc.. F value between media reaches 31.861 which showed the significance of difference was extreme. At the same time, several optimum combinations were screened out for the cuttage of Masson pine: (1) 6 perlite + 2 yellow soil + 2 humus soil was the best one whose rooting percentage was 78.9% (2) 3 perlite + 2 yellow soil + 5 humus soil was the second one whose rooting percentage was 73.9% (3) 6 sand + 2 purple soil + 2 humus soil was the third one whose rooting percentage was 70%. (4) The rooting percentage of 1 perlite + 1 humus soil was 67.8% , and (5) the one of 4 sand + 3 purple soil + 3 humus soil was 64.4%. The effect of the other three kinds of media were not ideal. The effects of regulators (GGR6,IBA,NAA and IBA+NAA), concentrations (30ppm,50ppm,100ppm and 200ppm) and times (1h,2h,4h and 8h ) on cuttage of Masson pine was studied under different combinations of the three. Eventually, the F value which were respectively 66.6329, 18.4761 and 22.5375 for different regulators, concentrations and times were obtained. It shows that the effects of the three on cuttage of Masson pine were separately significantly different. Also, the first order interaction of the three reaches extremely significant level, though the second order Interaction of the three factors is not significant Besides, several superior combinations of the three were screened out: (1) The rooting percentage of 100ppm GGR6 together with 4h and 8h treatment time was 77.45% and 78.35% ,(2) the second was 200ppm GGR6 with 2h treatment time whose rooting percentage was 72.5%, (3)the following one is 50ppm IBA+NAA with 8h treatment time, and its rooting percentage reaches 60.85,which was pursued by (4) 200ppm IBA with 8h treatment time whose rooting percentage was 59.2% .The effect of the others were not ideal. The effect of cutting length on cuttage of Masson pine was also explored. The result came down to the conclusion that the cutting length of 8-10cm was best, but good media was also needed in order to gain high rooting percentage. Or else the effect is not very ideal. The last but not least important part of the research was to probe into the effects of degree of lignifications, with or without terminal bud and cuttage months on cuttage of Masson pine. The conclusion is as follows: cuttings of light-lignification or half-lignification and cuttings with terminal bud was superior to the positional ones. Cuttage in March and November were better than July in Chongqing according to the result. If the above three principles wasn't followed, survival percentage of cuttage would be seriously affected.
