Study On The Design Of DUS Testing Guidelines For New Varieties Of Prunus Mume And The Establishment Of Database For Varieties Of Common Knowledge

On the base of the analysis of protection of new varieties and development of the DUS testing system, the necessity and the importance on designing the new varieties of testing system and establishing the database for Prunus mume varieties of common knowledge were discussed. Based on the investigation of Prunus mume varieties in Yunnan, Hubei, Zhijiang, Sichun, Shandong, Beijing, a investigation list of Prunus mume variety resources was made, 350 varieties with detailed characteristics were got.According to the investigation of Prunus mume varieties all over the world, 36 characteristics were identified which will be important in the DUS testing guidelines for new varieties through the cluster analysis of characteristics on 255 varieties.At the same time, the language and the norms on the description of characteristics were unified. In order to avoid the local environment impacting on some characteristics of characters, a reference standard varieties and explanation on some characteristics were provided, so that, There was a DUS tasting guidelines for new varieties of Prunus mume.At last, in accordance with the development of new varieties of testing guidelines, a database for variety of common knowledge in the form of table with Excel database was established, to establish a perfect testing system of new varieties for Prunus mume.
