The author studied on the law of the affection, how the forest fire suppression hand pump man-machine interface effects on the operators and the operating efficiency, from the point of view of ergonomics. And the suitable parameters of the forest fire suppression hand pump man-machine interface is proposed in this paper, based on ergonomics, and these parameters can be applied to the technical base of the standard and humane design of the forest fire suppression hand pump. The major conclusions of the study are as follows.⑴The author studied on the experimental evaluation of heart rate, water efficiency and range, based on three typical forest fire suppression hand pump, which are produced by the United States, China and Canada births respectively. The results shows that shape and weight of the haversack, the diameter of hand pumps for holding, postures, and other parameters affect the level of fatigue of operators obviously.⑵Based on the study of the experiments, such as experiment on heart rate, the suitable diameter and length of handles are 30 mm to 35 mm and 100 mm to 125 mm respectively, and proper measures should be added on the hand pumps to increase friction; the suitable length of forest fire suppression hand pump for holding is 450mm to 800mm, and the inside cylinder reciprocating trip of hand pump is 350mm; it is beneficial to reduce fatigue to work with holding the hand pump above forward.⑶The formula of the diameter ( d (mm) ) of the inside cylinder of the forest fire suppression hand pump and work pressure(P(MP)): P = 62.4d2, based on the experiment evaluation and theories reasoning. The quantity of ejecting water is not one of the major factors which affect the operating performance. The diameter of the inside cylinder of hand pump should be reduced to decrease the load of operators and the suitable diameter of the inside cylinder is 14.4mm.⑷Based on the experimental study on the effect, which the haversacks have on body sway and fatigue, it is obtained that the weight of haversacks has obviously effects on the total track length of body sway, the fore-and-aft track length of body sway, the right-and-left track length of body sway, the displacement velocity; the style of haversacks has obviously effects on the total track length of body sway, the fore-and-aft track length of body sway, the displacement velocity, but not has the same effect on the right-and-left track length of body sway; the effect which the weight of haversacks have on body sway is more obviously than the style of the haversacks; the effects, which the weight and style of haversacks have on the fore-and-aft track length of body sway, is more obviously than the effect they have on the right-and-left track length of body sway. The reasonable design plan for haversacks of forest fire suppression hand pump is provided in the paper, from the point of view of the structure, barycenter and size of haversacks.
